Week Nine

The Illicit Trade: The Dark Trade
A National Geographic special, Illicit: the Dark Trade was not only about smuggling or fraud; it was about how criminal networks are changing the world. What is so funny is that it is not coming to town, it is living and festering here, right under our noses.

One of the things the film remarked upon was how the criminals of today have no rules to live by or regulations, morals, anything and everything they can use as a weapon to either run, or fight the authorities that plague them. The authorities acting within the body of some sort of higher system have no choice but to act within set rules and regulations. So how to we catch any of them if they get all of the advantage? Only when the criminal is dumb lazy loose tongue or to trusting do we ever get to make the criminal as a convict.

The internet is an amazing place. It has warped a lot of tasks or pleasures we use to take interest in. Many individuals use to have several numbers of pen pals that they would correspond to routinely. This is one of the reasons that postage continues to go up is because people just do not send casual mail by snail mail.

Now you know that the apple is ripe, sweet, and too perfect, so do not be surprised when you find a worm sharing your apple with you. Some people can over look the worm and reach for another apple.

Illicit trading is one of the most stupidest things to do on-line. I repeat to clearly, any and all illicit trading is one of the most stupidest and hair brain scene things to do on the Internet. Who do you think owns the Internet? If you can not answer that question correctly do not go into the illicit trading with out knowing who you are up against and how to protect yourself.

Issues of the Case

The issue of this case is to accurately determine the classification of broadband cable Internet service. To do this accurately, and justly, the amended Communications Act will be a willing factor, among others. Telecommunication carriers offer telecommunication services for the public while information service providers are subject to regulations mandated by the Federal Communications Commission as common carriers under Title II of the same Act.

These two terms, Telecommunication service and Information service, originated from the 1970’s as the Federal Communications Commission, formed then to regulate data possessing services. The Federal Communications Commission gave two definitions for the types of service that a consumer could receive. "The definitions are located in the Computer II were it defines the basic and the enhanced services"(7).

But the actual definitions of the terms telecommunication service, and information service was established by the 1996 Act of Telecommunication. The Act of 1996 is quite similar in definition to the Computer II. This gave Information services a more defined definition as an “enhanced” service.

"The main component that separates a basic Internet service and a enhanced Internet service is Common carrier regulations that basic Internet service providers are in mandate to follow"(6). By basic the Federal Communications Commission means a communications path or a connection that would enable the consumer to transmit and ordinary language message from one point, without computer processing or storage of the information, of the than the processing or storage needed to convert the message into electronic form and then back into ordinary language for the purpose of transmitting it.
